At the Consultation
- Young patients must be accompanied by a parent/guardian or an adult who is authorized to make decisions for them.
- If you have x-rays (panoramic and cephalometric radiographs) which are less than six months old, please bring them along.
- Dr. Violet will advise whether additional x-rays or other diagnostic records are necessary in order for her to make a thorough diagnosis.
- The consult visit lasts for approximately 45 to 60 minutes. It consists of a thorough examination and diagnosis of the patient.
- Dr. Violet will then explain the dental situation and advise whether orthodontic treatment is recommended.
- If treatment is recommended, she will develop a treatment plan which will include the expected length of orthodontic treatment. You will be offered a choice of silver, gold or clear (tooth-colored) braces.
- You will receive an estimate of the fee for treatment and an explanation of the different payment options we offer.
